VISIONEERING - Creating your Personal Vision, with Davender Gupta
What's meaningful for you over the next five to ten years of your life? Are you creating this meaning in your work right now? Many people accept the need for a company to have a vision, but they neglect to think of what their own personal vision is. Your vision touches the core of who you are. When you express your vision, you come alive because you glide with the flow of the universe, instead of swimming against it. When you are aware of your vision, you can also better align yourself with the vision of your company, better understanding your role and how you fit in to your job. If you are thinking of changing positions, getting a promotion, leaving your current job or looking for a new one, a clear Personal Vision is very important to make a conscious choice.

During this 3 hour workshop, you will explore your Personal Vision as it relates to your work. You will leave with a greater awareness of your Personal Vision and with tools to help you integrate it into your work life.

Like the saying goes, "a vision is a dream with a deadline". If it's a vision, it's not a plan. Plans are just extensions of current reality, based on self-justifying trends and data (read "excuses"). Instead, your Personal Vision empowers you to break out of old patterns, be "unreasonable" and reach your full potential. Once you are clear about your Personal Vision, the Universe has the amazing power to bring forth the tools, opportunities and knowledge to make it come forth.

Davender Gupta, Visioneer, has been experiencing the power of Personal Vision in his life in a very intense manner over the past year. The mission of his company, Visioneering.ca Ltd., is to empower people and organizations to reach their full potential. Davender is passionate about Expression, Connection, Imagination and Soul.

Join Davender in this fascinating discovery about your Personal Vision!

"Tell Me a Little About Yourself":  Career as Life-Story, with Stephen Connor
If for no other reason, our "career" is important because it takes up so much of our time and effort. "Managing" such a major part of our lives is frequently seen as a matter of technique: of making the right career decisions and of balancing work and other parts of life.

This approach, although it has its place, depends on the idea that our work is separate from ourselves, and works at odds with other parts of our lives.

But a "career" is not merely the work we do "out there": it is a life story, the "plot" we would use if we were to write the stories of our lives. This perspective brings "career planning" much closer to the inner core of the self, and suggests that "career management" means asking the question, "What kind of story am I in?"

This workshop will suggest ways in which the life story can be examined, refined, and even transcended, in order to make the whole of life more meaningful, productive and fulfilling.

Stephen Connor has helped individuals, organizations and corporations examine their work lives for more than 25 years. He has a broad educational background in ethics and values, religious studies, industrial psychology and organizational behaviour and philosophy.

He has worked in corporate career and outplacement across Canada, as well as in politics, public affairs, media, health care policy management, adult education, counselling and academia.

Well-known and experienced as a presenter and facilitator, Stephen brings a holistic, engaging and energizing perspective to issues of personal growth and social concern.

The Transformation of Business:  Creating an Anti-Dilbert Workplace, with Carol-Ann Hamilton
Borrowing on the cartoon misadventures of Dilbert, Dogbert, Wally and the rest of the gang Scott Adam has created, this session asks the question: how can we, as spiritual leaders, contribute to the transformation of business.

Clearly, dawning recognition of the untenable human costs of living in fear-based and destructive organizations is resulting in growing momentum and support for the creation of a new mode. Studs Terkel echoes the current workplace malaise when he observes, most of us have jobs that are too small for our spirits. By drawing on both our own experiences and others examples of living by our inner truth at work, we will investigate ways to foster and encourage organizational renewal-a reinventing that allows organizations to be places of meaning, purpose, fulfillment and spirit.

Join Carol Ann Hamilton for three hours of banter, debate and conversation that will send you away with ample food for thought and re-engagement for action.

Carol-Ann Hamilton is an experienced Organizational Development practitioner with more than 15 years of experience in various settings within corporate Canada. A strong background in training and development brings focus to her internal consulting practice, which deals with change management, team building, performance coaching, transition and renewal issues.

Her work typically combines self-reflection and experiential learning techniques drawn from business, psychology, the arts and spiritual disciplines. Previous speaking engagements have been through the International Quality & Performance Conferences. Audiences frequently comment on the caring approach, empathy, and ability to create a safe atmosphere, her sincerity and encouragement to get everyone involved Carol-Ann takes in her workshops.

Wednesday, March 24/99, 6:30 - 9:30 pm & Saturday, March 27/99, 10 am - 1 pm.

Location: Royal Bank Learning Network, 6th fl., 20 King St. W., Toronto
