INVITES YOU TO

"Buddha in the Boardroom ©"
with DR. LLOYD FIELD

Tuesday April 26, 2005
7:30 to 9:30 pm
Metro Hall, Toronto

Buddhist ethics and responsible corporate governance can go hand-in-hand in today's Western society, and can enlighten one's own spiritual values. The ancient wisdom of the Buddha suggests a close and deep relationship between wealth and the well-being of society. How business profit contributes to the betterment of the community and society is the issue. And the issue is about intention, not about philanthropy. Shareholders, Boards and organizational leaders have, in Buddhist thinking, a responsibility to create an ethically-based and holistic environment within their organization and community. Our presentation and conversation tonight will be about the possibilities, given our present economic environment, to create workplaces and communities where social, emotional, spiritual and intellectual needs of individuals are met. We'll talk about how all the organization's constituents can go beyond purely competitive relationships and economic equations.

Lloyd Field, PhD left his corporate position as a vice-president of Human Resources thirty years ago to create and lead an organizational development and human resource consultancy. His clients include many North American and international Fortune 500 organizations. Lloyd frequently contributes to business publications, has trained over 10,000 managers internationally, and wrote a Canadian best seller "Unions Are Not Inevitable! A Guide To Positive Employee Relations"©, now in its 4th edition. Later this year, Lloyd will publish "Buddha in the Boardroom"©.
