FROM JOB TO VOCATION:  3 NEW PROGRAMS

Connecting with who you are and what you do amazingly shifts work from being only a job to being vocation. In moving through this transformation, you may find that you are already in the place to where you are called, but just didn’t have the eyes to see it. Or you may find that a dramatic change demanding real courage is called for. For most people, it lies somewhere in between. The Centre for Spirituality at Work offers three programs, along with optional career counselling. To help you on this journey, the programs are best when taken as a series, but can be selected separately

TAKING CHARGE OF LIFE - FOLLOWING THE PATH THAT LEADS YOU

Each and every life has its own magnificence and uniqueness. Can we allow this to guide us and shine forth in our work and relationships? Each of us has our own outer biography represented by the outer tasks, experiences, challenges and circumstances of our particular life. In parallel with this we have an individual destiny which has created a landscape of meetings, opportunities, relationships and crises against which our inner biography, our life of soul and eternal spirit is continually invited to unfold and make a unique contribution. On this weekend workshop you will be led through a reflective and artistic program that will help you explore the hidden patterns and meaning of your own inner and outer biography. Developing a true wonder and gratefulness for the innate wisdom of the path of your life can awaken a deeper insight and enthusiasm for what your future is asking and offering.

EVOLVING TO VOCATION...

On our final weekend together, you will retreat from your normal life to be inspired and refreshed at the Ecology Retreat Centre (http://welcome.to/ecorc) in the lovely Hockley Valley near Orangeville. To help you integrate all your new knowledge and self-knowledge, to aid your search for discernment and clarity in your calling. This weekend will provide an opportunity to gain further insights and through your interaction with the natural world it will also give an ecological context to vocation. Our sense of calling in the new millennium must not only ‘be in service of other people’s hungers’ but must also be in service to the earth if we are to achieve inner and outer harmony.

Instructor: Marianne Karsh, BScF, MScF, R.P.F. is founder and director of Arborvitae, dedicated to nourishing spirituality through nature (www.arborvitae.org). She has a deep passion for re-connecting people to the earth through her in-depth knowledge of spiritual traditions as they relate to the beneficial aspects of nature. Marianne, a Registered Professional Forester and research scientist, has been leading nature and spirituality field trips, courses and seminars since 1982. She is the co-author of "Trees, Forestry and the Responsiveness of Creation", published in This Sacred Earth: Religion, Nature and the Environment, Roger Gottlieb (ed.), (1996).
