| "SPIRITUALITY IN THE CORPORATE WORKPLACE" | |
| Many would say spirituality at work and work in a corporation
are mutually exclusive. Some, however, have learned that one can choose and experience a
different perspective, intentionally approaching life within the corporate environment as
ministry. This does not mean preaching and proselytizing. This means being mindful that
each person is composed of head, heart, body and spirit, and that none of these should be
left at the door when coming into work. This way of being and doing, speaking and
listening, starts with oneself and can lead to amazing transformations inside a corporate
work environment. Which in turn spirals to a further awakening of one's own spirituality,
and on and on serving a greater good that benefits self, co-workers, customers, suppliers,
shareholders, and the community. It takes the courage and perseverance, the letting go and
the patience of a grounded and living faith. This evening is planned especially for
employees of large organizations to talk in a safe place about values & ethics,
community, authenticity that is not career-limiting, etc., etc., etc. |

| Please join Brenda Nesbitt and Jim Allen to enter into a dialogue about the large workplace, exchanging stories and perspectives, joys and struggles, public and personal. Both are from national office of the CIBC, Jim the Executive Vice President of Customer Marketing and Brenda a Project Co-ordinator and until recently a group administrative assistant. Both have studied part time for their Master of Divinity degrees from UofT's Emmanuel College. | |
