Do you ever feel like your soul is too big for your work? Do you long for work that fulfills, serves and transforms? The Centre for Spirituality at Work invites you to participate in a unique opportunity to be part of a co-creative community to explore the personal journey from stress to delight, overloaded to emptying, producer to artist, disillusioned to transforming. Carol Kilby, M.Div., is our guide in an exploration of the paths and teachings of Creation Spirituality, learning the language of our search for meaning and purpose, addressing our tensions between work and spirituality, and learning how to bring the two back together in their rightful relationship. Carol has almost completed her Doctor of Ministry degree at Matthew Fox's University of Creation Spirituality in Oakland, California and is a United Church minister. Her studies at UCS challenge conventional definitions of work as a job or way to make money. They teach that work is the creative expression of each unique soul. According to the mystics, work comes from the inside out. It's an expression of the Spirit at work in the world through us. Authentic work serves our immediate and the global community in actual goods, our "Outer Work". It also contributes a social energy in which we each play our role in the unfolding creation-drama of the universe or what is called "The Great Work". Creation Spirituality claims that humans need "good work". In that so much good work needs doing in our time, we must work on the human heart, the"inner work" and soul work to inspire our work and to help us to reinvent it. The second module is "Re-telling Your Story":

WORK LIKE YOU DON'T NEED THE MONEY is in three stand-alone 5-week modules, February 2 to May 17. They are best being taken together, but each is valuable in its own right. The first module is "Re-Working Your Spirituality": Work like your spirit matters, Work like letting go is the way ahead, Work like an artist at play, Work like the earth depends on it, and Work like You're a Celebration of the Universe! The third module is "Reinventing Your Work": Before the program, you will find it helpful to read Matthew Fox's internationally acclaimed book, "The Reinvention of Work". You can reach Carol at kilbyirwin@hotmail.com Mondays, 7:00 to 9:30 pm Toronto School of Theology, 47 Queen's Park Cres. E., the southeast corner at St. Joseph St. One block north of Wellesley St. between the Queen's Park and Museum subway stations. Metered street parking is in front, a paid lot right behind with an entrance off St. Joseph St. REGISTRATION: |
