CHURCH OF THE REDEEMER

INVITES YOU TO

BODY PRAYER: CONNECTING BODY, MIND & SPIRIT
with the Rev. Dr. Anne Simmonds

3 Thursdays, Nov. 11, 18, and 25, 2005
5:45 pm to 6:45 pm
Church of the Redeemer, 162 Bloor St. W. at Avenue Rd.,
in the sanctuary on the main floor

Body prayer offers a simple and meaningful way to balance and integrate your mind, body, and spirit. At the same time, it releases the stress that we so often lament today. With body prayer, learn to take care of yourself so that you not only have something to give to others, but so that you experience peace and joy in being alive. You will do a variety of easily learned movements, many with connected prayers and meanings. You can do them at work or at home, and they can be spiritual practices for people of any or no faith tradition. No special clothing, footwear, or equipment is needed -- just come as you are to release and prevent the physical effects of chronic tension and to give yourself space to be in touch with Spirit.

Anne Simmonds, DMin., is a former nurse and hospital chaplain and is currently half-time Minister - Pastoral Care at Rosedale United Church in Toronto. She is a spiritual counsellor, educator and facilitator. She has recently completed a year-long training in Body Mind Spirit Practices.

Attendance: Please join us for 1, 2, or 3 of the sessions. Each is of value in its own right, and each is different, building on the previous ones. There is no fee for this program. While registration is not required, it would be very helpful for materials and organizing purposes to know which ones you hope to attend -- please notify Sherry Connolly at Sherry@SpiritualityAtWork.org.
