Eric Hellman and Bill DeFoore
Wed. 3:30 p.m.; Jun. 2, 1999
In this workshop, we will take an emotionally intelligent, multi-faceted look at the entire issue of Year 2000 and its practical and philosophical implications The concept of the shadow will be explored as a useful framework for examination of this timely issue. The shadow of Y2K represents the potential destructive elements, and the gold represents the benefits arising from it.
In an interactive format, we will examine the major issues and implications on personal, business and global levels. We will look at the meaning of Y2K in terms of human evolution, spirituality and community. Participants will:
  • identify the learning potential from the Y2K issue
  • learn about websites, videos and other sources of information on Y2K
  • discuss community-building efforts in response to the issue
  • examine the element of fear related to "worst-case scenarios" and learn emotionally intelligent ways to process this information
  • come to an understanding of the spiritual benefits of the Y2K issue.
Spirituality at Work:   The Basics
Co-presenters: Eric Hellman, Hugh Drouin and David Rivard
Tue. Jun. 1, 1999
Theme presented by Eric Hellman:  What is "Spirituality in the Workplace, anyway?" -- an exploration of diversity and passion
This workshop will explore what it means for you to validate and deepen your own perspective, and to help us understand one another. We'll consider two aspects:
First, what we do to:
  • improve how we work
  • nurture health and well-being
  • apply integrity and ethics
  • increase social/environmental responsibility
  • raise consciousness and serve the Spirit.
Second, what we have experienced.
Walking a spiritual path can be passionate and difficult. While it is often not "acceptable" to do so, we yearn deeply to share it and have our work/life transformed.
